In the Luweero District of Uganda, our Hope Center walks alongside widows and the children in their care. Rather than building an orphanage, we place orphans with host families and equip those caregivers to provide a stable home — keeping children rooted in their own communities while making sure they can stay in school.
For the widows, the path out of poverty begins with a small amount of capital and a lot of trust. Micro-grants and micro-loans help women launch and grow modest businesses, while school fees keep the next generation learning. Together these break the cycle of dependency one family at a time.
On our growing acreage in Luweero, farming and livestock projects move the center toward self-sufficiency. The harvest and the herds feed families today and build a foundation that can sustain the work for years to come.
